Care

Silver, Brass & Bronze

The natural characteristics of sterling silver, brass and bronze cause the surface to develop a beautiful patina (tarnish produced by oxidation causing a change in color) over time from exposure to natural oils from one's skin, atmospheric elements, and moisture.

The brass pieces are coated with a ceramic coating to help slow down the metal from tarnishing. Like all surface treatments on metal, it is on the surface, so one needs to make sure to take care of the piece properly to keep the coating from wearing off. It is best to remove the brass pieces when sleeping, swimming in any body of water, bathing, and when applying lotions or any other product on yourself.

You can also slow down the patina process by storing your pieces in an airtight environment like a ziplock bag or container.

To restore the luster on your piece, use a treated polishing cloth on the metal.
